This policy explains what information ChairScanner collects, why, and the rights you have over it. ChairScanner operates in the UK and follows UK GDPR.
Profile information: your name, trade, photos, work history, qualifications, languages, social links, and what you're looking for.
Location: the town or area you choose to search around. Workers are always shown on the map as an approximate area near that town — never an address.
Activity: requests sent and received, messages, and profile views.
To show your profile or listing to the other side of the marketplace.
To send and deliver requests and messages, including expiry reminders.
To run the verification system — asking a past employer you name to confirm the work relationship.
We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
Your profile (photos, trade, work history, endorsements, preferences) is visible to other users browsing the app.
Worker map locations are shown as an approximate area, not an exact address, unless you choose "Show my address". Exact details are for you to share once matched.
Profile-view insights show paying users which shops or workers viewed their profile; free users see a count only.
Some preferences are stored on your own device (in your browser's local storage) so the app remembers your setup. Account and profile data is stored on our servers within a secure, access-controlled database.
You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you.
You can ask us to correct or delete your data.
You can delete your profile, which removes it from browsing and search. To exercise any of these rights, contact the ChairScanner team through the app.
Profile data is kept while your account is active. Expired requests and old messages may be retained for a limited period to operate the service and resolve disputes, then removed.
If this policy changes we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
